About

Rachael Joy is the Chief Clinical and Strategy Officer at SheMed, a women-founded, women-focused health tech company created to address longstanding gaps in women’s healthcare. A registered nurse and independent non-medical prescriber, she brings over a decade of experience leading digital health and prevention-focused services, with a strong track record in designing scalable, technology-enabled care models that support long-term health outcomes. She qualified as a nurse in 2011 from King’s College London and began her career in primary care, building a strong foundation in patient-centred care within regulated clinical environments. She went on to spend over 6 years at Babylon Health, where she led non-medical clinical teams and services across both NHS and private care, supporting the delivery and national scale of digital-first healthcare.

Rachael later joined eMed as Vice President of Strategic Innovation, where she led service design, and the strategic development of large-scale digital weight management programmes. Her work focused on combining clinical excellence with prevention-led, digitally enabled care models, while aligning clinical safety, regulatory requirements, and commercial delivery.

Since SheMed’s founding, Rachael has helped shape and drive the company’s strategy, leading the design and delivery of a patient-centred product and service built around women’s real health needs. She oversees SheMed’s clinical, research, and product strategy, including real-world evidence studies exploring the broader impact of GLP-1 therapies on women’s health beyond weight loss alone, with a particular focus on midlife and menopause-related outcomes.Known for combining clinical insight with strategic and operational leadership, Rachael is passionate about building equitable, scalable healthcare models that genuinely improve outcomes for women. Her work is driven by a commitment to patient safety, evidence-based care, and closing the women’s health gap through thoughtful innovation.
